As part of the annual academic collaboration between Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik (WMF) and the University of Namibia (UNAM – JEDS Ongwediva Campus), UNAM students visited WMF on Wednesday, 09 September 2026, for an educational site visit.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and gain practical exposure to an industrial working environment. During the tour, they were briefed by WMF’s safety officers, mechanical engineer and interns, who shared insights into workplace safety, mechanical operations and their experiences within the industry.
The students also had the opportunity to engage with the WMF team, ask questions and learn more about different career paths available within their fields of study.
WMF continues to value collaboration with academic institutions as a way of connecting students with practical industry experience and helping them better understand the opportunities available within the engineering and technical sectors.
